Yes is My New Favorite Word

I'm engaged. Yep, the amazing Miss. Kelsey Chandler agreed to become a Mrs. with me.  We went ring shopping last Monday and Tuesday and found a ring she loved.  She wasn't expecting me to buy it the next day and then propose on Thursday, but that's what I did.  On Thursday, I was planning on going to Cedar City with her and her grandpa.  I knew that SUU was the most appropriate place for me to pop the question as we both are quite proud of that wonderful school, met there, dated there, etc.  I called an old SUUSA advisor, Jake Johnson, who put me through to Donna, the VP of Student Services.  She got on the phone and asked what she could do to help out.  She was very excited as she worked with both Kelsey and me quite a bit last year.  So, I told her I wanted to propose in the Great Hall, where Kelsey and I had attended a dance together last year and is one of our favorite spots on campus.  Thanks to her and Kelsey's brother/family, everything went off without a hitch and Kelsey was very surprised.  It was perfect.  I certainly consider myself quite lucky to be getting an amazing girl like her.  She's beautiful, smart, funny, and my best friend.  I couldn't be happier.  And, as if saying yes wasn't wonderful enough, she gave me a new camera for Christmas the next day!  Yep, she's amazing.

Of course that was the highlight of the year for me but to make the day even better, I received a call from George Mason Law School congratulating me on being accepted into their Fall 2012 program.  The stars certainly aligned for me last week. Hopefully that is just one of many acceptances I get over the next few weeks.

Life has always been good to me, but it was especially good to me this week.

Merry Christmas.

  1. i was already pleased by the engagement business but the law school thing is just the icing on the cake. (also, i looked up the school to find out where it is and at first i read "North Virginia" and it took me a solid 30seconds to remember there is no such state as North Virginia, and that the website did indeed say "Northern Virginia" which makes much more sense.)
