Marvin Gaye--What's Going On
I love Marvin Gaye. He has written some great songs like Ain't no Mountain High Enough and I Heard it Through the Grape Vine. This song, also very well-known, is inspiring but it makes me think about the hatred, racism, bigotry, discrimination and evil in the world and it makes me sad. Atrocities are happening all over the world every day because people are unable to agree to disagree. Wouldn't it be incredible if there was some way to avoid the hate and bloodshed that too often accompanies conflict? Wouldn't it be great if kids grew up learning to embrace the diversity of the world? Now, I know that sometimes war is unavoidable but it is a sad part of our existence here on earth.
The video below is older and it starts out with a weird Motown intro cartoon but the music starts about 30 seconds in.
