A Cedar City Summer

Things I'm loving this summer:

1. Cedar City has really surprised me. Yes, it is a small town that loses a lot of people in the summer but, interestingly enough, I have met a lot of new and great people and I have had some great adventures.

2. The West Wing was introduced to me by the one and only Emily Burt. Yes, I know I'm a registered republican, and yes, I know that this country is going through some difficult times due to some poor decision making on the side of the Democratic party but when it comes to Jed Bartlet and his staff, it doesn't get any better. I love the ideals the drama presents. I am so impressed with every episode; how great Aaron Sorkin intertwines the issues with the daily life of the White House staff. Riveting for an aspiring young public servant like myself.

3. Dave Matthews Band has really been making me happy lately. I love their great music. The talent of that band is unbelievable and I am going to see them in concert on August 17th. So exciting. I'm posting a video above of the great song "Everyday" starring that one guy from "30 Rock." Such a great video.

4. Rafting on the Seahawk in the mighty waters of Coal Creek, the Virgin, and even the Jordan River brought out the adventurer in me. I hope to have many more adventures this summer that bring me as much excitement that the epic Seahawk voyages brought me. Pictured below is a model of the mighty vessel.
